About AED training:
The Emergency First Response Automated External Defibrillation (AED) training builds on the skills learned in the Primary Care (CPR) course to teach the proper AED use. This life saving device can increase a patient's chance of survival from a cardiac arrest by fifty percent. During this course you'll review the basic principles of Primary Care (CPR) and learn how to deploy and use an AED in an emergency situation.
NOTE: The AED training course can be presented separately for participants who already hold a CPR qualification from another first aid training institute.
First Aid Training
Emergency First Response Secondary Care (first aid training) covers injuries or illnesses that are not immediately life threatening. Participants focus on secondary patient assessment and first aid through knowledge development, skills development and realistic scenario practice.
Secondary Skills taught in this first aid course includes:
- Injury Assessment
- Illness Assessment
- Splinting for Dislocations and Fractures
The course is open to anyone over the age of 14; no prior first aid training is required.
Textbooks and Tests
Participants receive the latest, updated EFR Textbook - arguably the best first aid training text book available! Practical tests are conducted throughout the duration of the course and a final written exam completes student assessment.
Validity and Re-certification
On successful completion students receive an internationally accepted EFR Responder Identification Card - credit card size - which is valid for a period of two years. After the two years students can renew their first aid training qualification by attending an EFR Refresher course without having to re-do the entire course.
